This past July, Mercedes-Benz raised the curtain on their fourth Black Series model - the C63 AMG Black Series Coupe. Over the last three months, we at Motor Werks Mercedes-Benz of Barrington have been wondering: When will they trick out the C63 AMG sedan with the same fixings?

Though we don't have a definitive answer from Mercedes-Benz, recent spy shots nabbed in Germany indicate that we will likely see a C63 AMG Black Series Sedan, soon. Word on the street is that the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series Sedan caught flirting with the Nurburgring track features the same engine upgrade and transmission as the Black Series Coupe slated to arrive in the U.S., March 2012.

For enthusiasts who missed the C63 AMG Black Series Coupe announcement, this translates to a 510-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine and AMG Speedshift MCT seven-speed automatic transmission. Together, the V8 and four-mode, seven-speed tranny give the C63 AMG Black Series Coupe a 4.0-secod zero-to-60-mph acceleration time. The engine, compared to that offered in the current 2012 C63 AMG sedan, promises an extra 59 ponies of unbridled power. Among the other features the Mercedes-Benz C63 Black Series sedan is expected to share with its confirmed Coupe counterpart are hyper-reactive brakes, a bigger oil cooler, and significantly enhanced suspension.

Of course, nothing is set in stone yet. But, Motor Werks of Barrington wouldn't be surprised if Mercedes-Benz gave the C63 AMG Black Series Sedan the green light in the next few months.
