Over the years, Mercedes-Benz subsidiary and performance partner AMG has grown stronger, and now it's even getting its first-ever independent showroom in Beijing, China. Though the luxury performance brand has been sold for over 45 years by Mercedes-Benz dealerships like Motor Werks Mercedes-Benz of Barrington, serving the greater Chicago, IL area, it's breaking new ground with this showroom.

If you like lighter, faster, and more powerful then you have at least two things to like about the new Mercedes-Benz SL 63 AMG. It gets a 537-horsepower, 590-pound-foot version of the M571 twin-turbo V8 making the rounds in AMG vehicles, but that can be bumped to 564 hp and 664 lb-ft with the AMG Performance Package.

All of that thrust works on a car that is 125 kilograms lighter than the last generation, having lost 120 kg through the use of an aluminum bodyshell and another five kg with trunk formed of carbon fiber and plastic. The result is a zero to 100 kph run of 4.2 seconds with the extra juice, and onto 200 kph in 12.6 seconds.

Handling is sharpened with an evolution of the Active Body Control, three-state ESP a la the SLS AMG, as well as an optional AMG rear axle differential lock and AMG performance suspension.

Head past the jump for all the details on the matter and a video, and we've added a bunch more photos to our high-res gallery. We'll have even more to say about it when we see it at the Geneva Motor Show.

This past July, Mercedes-Benz raised the curtain on their fourth Black Series model - the C63 AMG Black Series Coupe. Over the last three months, we at Motor Werks Mercedes-Benz of Barrington have been wondering: When will they trick out the C63 AMG sedan with the same fixings?

Though we don't have a definitive answer from Mercedes-Benz, recent spy shots nabbed in Germany indicate that we will likely see a C63 AMG Black Series Sedan?

Though Mercedes-Benz isn't scheduled to start pushing their vintage-vogue SLS AMG roadster to dealership lots until this fall, the automaker started accepting pre-orders on June 1 after the cars premier at the International Frankfurt Motor Show. With that in mind, we would like to take the time to share a few of its details with you.

As rumors suggested, the 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster is losing its gull-wing doors and roof. The look?
